Sumo Bulldogs is nestled north of the Boston Mountain Range, close to the infamous Pig Trail of northwestern Arkansas. We are breeders of AKC English bulldogs.

Heather graciously puts up with my sometimes fanatical zeal for the English bulldog puppies, which we raise at our home. This process often involves sleepless nights. Getting up every couple of hours during the night to check on and help feed our babies. But it is worth the effort.

Heather and I have searched the world over to find each specific dog in our breeding program. We have sought to establish a bloodline that demonstrates the most correct breed standard show dogs we can produce. We have sought to add pedigrees from some of the most sought after consistent producing world champion and international European champion bloodlines in the world. We have been abundantly blessed with the opportunity to establish the Sumo bloodline with this fantastic collection of show dogs. Merriveen, Mystyle Ocobo, Mervander, Iceglint, Jaminic, Kelloe, Brampton, and here in the U.S. Cherokee, Little Ponds, Imperious and Millcoats just to name a few. We feel these are some of the world’s best and healthiest bloodlines.

We at Sumo Bulldogs intend to continually strive to improve our bloodlines. We are constantly examining a mom’s ability to care for her young. Does she have a good milk supply? Will each puppy we produce carry these genetic strengths and qualities? Does mom have high butterfat (so her babies are fat and healthy)? Does she watch them carefully, or just plop down on them without looking to see where they are? Does she throw pups with good hips? Good knees? Is hip dysplasia rare in her offspring? Are our stud dogs able to reproduce themselves consistently? Are we seeing consistent cherry eyes or entropion being produced in a particular bloodline? All these factors come into consideration when we select the breeding stock we use to produce the various pups that you will see offered on our website.

We could not be more pleased with the quality of pups our boys have been producing. There is this tug of war between producing health dogs with good breathing, good sound hips, and knees. Clear eyes. And that love affair with that ultimate bulldog. Thick and wrinkly. Just cute as a button.
